Idaho Secretary of State office — contact, fees, and licensing

The Idaho Secretary of State's Business Services Division registers all business entities, processes UCC filings, and administers trademarks. All business entity filings go through the SOSBiz portal; paper forms incur a manual processing surcharge. Idaho does not publish a standalone fee schedule page — filing fees appear within the SOSBiz wizard at the time of filing.

Filing fees

Idaho does not publish its business entity filing fees on a standalone public webpage. Fees are displayed within the SOSBiz online filing wizard when you select the filing type. To check a specific fee before filing, use the SOSBiz portal directly at sosbiz.idaho.gov, or call Business Services at (208) 334-2301.

Two fee rules that do appear publicly:

Paper filing surcharge: Any filing submitted on paper that could otherwise be filed online incurs an additional $20.00 manual processing fee, per Idaho Code §30-21-214 (effective November 2018). Online filings through SOSBiz avoid this charge.
Credit card processing fee: Online payments through Access Idaho carry a $1.00 non-refundable processing fee plus a 2.5% transaction fee. Checks or money orders payable to "Idaho Secretary of State" do not carry this fee.
