Alaska Official SOS WebsiteAlaska's business entity registrations are handled by the Corporations Section within the Division of Corporations, Business and Professional Licensing (CBPL), a division of the Alaska Department of Commerce, Community, and Economic Development. Alaska Business License — a separate requirement
Most businesses operating in Alaska must also obtain an Alaska Business License from the Business Licensing Section, regardless of whether they form a registered entity. This is a separate filing from entity registration. The license costs $50 per year for a new license and $50 per year for renewal. Endorsements (for specific regulated activities) cost $100 each per year. Sole proprietors and general partnerships that do not file with the Corporations Section still need a business license to operate legally.
